Welcome to Stoke Minster Church of England Primary Academy. We are proud members of St Chad’s Academies Trust and we sincerely hope that your time with us will be a meaningful relationship, in partnership together, as we work to shape and support your child or children to grow in social, moral and spiritual character.

I have been fortunate to be the Head of this school since 2008 and together we have weathered the challenge of special measures through to being recognised as a ‘good’ school by Ofsted in 2012. Our context began to change significantly in the years that followed and in 2013 we began to look at developing a bespoke school curriculum which would prepare our children with all the knowledge and skills that an unknown future may require of them. We worked in partnership with parents, Governors, children and staff members to begin the iSPARKLE journey. You can read more about the rationale behind our journey on our school curriculum pages. This journey continues, but has had to take a short hiatus due to the obvious historic events of the 2020 pandemic.

Our academy began afresh in 2018 when we joined ST Chad’s Academies Trust. In 2019, we stood on the precipice of launching the ‘i’ for innovation and creativity into our already embedded SPARKLE curriculum. This was to be the final aspect of our bespoke school curriculum and would include the development of our careers programme. Exciting events were taking place as we continued to develop the mastery curriculum throughout all subjects and not just in mathematics.

We are a work in progress, but I am sure that over the time you spend with us, you will begin to appreciate the diversity and opportunity we offer our children, who are, after all, the artists, scientists, mathematicians, engineers, authors … the list goes on … of the future.

We are here to provide the best possible, all round, educational experience your child could hope for. We are not perfect and that is why our relationship with our community is so very important. We don’t all have the skills necessary to face this complex world alone, but together we do; together, in partnership with you, we can succeed.

Welcome to Stoke Minster Church of England Primary Academy!
